St. Barnabas offers you a strong weekend therapy program. Most of our patients receive therapy six times per week. This means there's no lost time on weekends! In a typical rehab center, therapists spend the first part of the week regaining patient strength and mobility from a weekend of inactivity. At St. Barnabas, weekend therapy helps you reach your goals faster. Also, patients admitted on Friday do not have to wait until Monday to begin their rehab regimen. Flexible therapy programs encompass the needs and abilities of each patient. What are weekend therapy sessions like? Our weekend therapists carry the same patient load as weekday therapists. They keep patient momentum going so when Monday morning comes around, patients are ready to move to the next level instead of spending the day in remedial therapy. Every patient at St. Barnabas receives six days of therapy a week, and patients who have had total joint replacement receive seven days of physical therapy. St. Barnabas staffs a full-time occupational and physical therapist on weekends. Tell me about the St. Barnabas therapy team. The St. Barnabas therapy team includes ten full-time physical, occupational, and speech therapists. In addition, we have a crew of part-time and PRN staff we can call on as needed to staff weekends and holidays. Our team brings a wide range of experiences and skills from a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals and inpatient rehabs. We place a great deal of importance on teamwork. Intentional communication between disciplines ensures the team functions as a whole to meet each patient's therapy goals. Can my family attend my therapy sessions with me? We welcome family members to therapy sessions. We ask only that they not distract or interfere with therapy deliverables. Observing therapists working with a family member helps them to understand safety measures and therapy recommondations that may be ongoing when they return home. How can we stay informed about my progress? St. Barnabas therapists have open communication for approved family and organizations. We conduct a care plan within seven to 10 days after admission, and have frequent communication with family and caregivers throughout the patient's stay at St. Barnabas.
