Local artist Mary Jane Kelly, featured in the Fall 2007 issue of
CityScope magazine, designed a bronze sculpture for the lobby
of the new skilled nursing facility. Entitled "Celebration", the sculpture
depicts a vibrant woman representative of the spirit of Mrs. Kelly's
sister, Pam Ferris, a long-time resident of St. Barnabas.
The St. Barnabas heart, symbolic of its reputation for a
nurturing family environment, is incorporated into the
edging of figure's fringed cloak.
The sculpture is placed in a prominent position in the
nursing facility's lobby just outside the admissions office. |
