RECREATIONAL THERAPY (ACTIVITIES)

Our Activities Program is led by a certified activities director, as well as two supporting staff. The activity director is a member of the interdisciplinary team and must assess each resident upon admission and at the required intervals as noted for the assessment periods. Residents are assessed for individual preferences and offered varying activities to accommodate their skill level and interests. 
  
Regulations mandate that activities be offered and maintained at the appropriate age and interest level of the resident. Activities that “infantalize” the resident are not permitted.  There is also a monthly schedule of group activities which are offered each day of the week. 

Volunteer assistance is at the heart of a well-structured activity program. While “Bingo” still reigns as a resident favorite, special events for holiday seasons are also well received. Several community groups have been involved through time and gifts to the resident family.
