Pastoral Care Program

The Pastoral Care Program at St. Barnabas serves a vital role to the well-being of our patients and residents. The program provides a variety of worship services, Bible study, counseling, visitation, family support, funeral planning, and spiritual care. Our chaplain assists with the spiritual needs of all those who desire this service, utilizing trained clergy and lay ecumenical caregivers.

The program incoporates the diversity of faith traditions among our clientele and actively pursues an  interfaith approach to meet a wide range of spiritual needs.

The needs of the elderly are many: declining physical and mental health; depression and loneliness; increased need for spiritual comfort and affirmation; a need to be a part of a caring community. The St. Barnabas Pastoral Care Program offers comprehensive spiritual care individually directed to personal needs.

Our mission is to provide healing to both body and soul during some of the most difficult years of our residents' and their families' lives. The spiritual comfort provided by the St. Barnabas chaplain helps to ease transitions fraught with uncertainty, guilt, pain, and fear of separation. Each and every resident and patient has access to a variety of spiritual services during their stay at St. Barnabas, according to their desire.
